      <p>BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:</p>

          <p><b>1.</b> This Act may be cited as the <i>National Welfare Fund Repeal Act 1985.</i></p>
          <p>
            <b>Commencement</b>
          </p>
        </content>

        <subsection eId="sec-2__subsec-1">
          <num>1</num>
          <content>
            <p><b>2.</b> <b>(1) </b>Sections 1, 2 and 5 shall come into operation on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.</p>
          </content>
        </subsection>

          <num>2</num>
          <content>
            <p><b>(2) </b>The remaining provisions of this Act shall come into operation on a day to be fixed by Proclamation.</p>
          </content>
        </subsection>

        <heading>Repeal</heading>
        <content>
          <p><b>3.</b> The following Acts are repealed:</p>
          <p>
            <i>National Welfare Fund Act 1943</i>
          </p>
          <p>
            <i>National Welfare Fund Act 1945</i>
          </p>
          <p>
            <i>National Welfare Fund Act 1950</i>
          </p>
          <p>
            <i>National Welfare Fund Act 1952.</i>
          </p>

        <num>4</num>
        <heading>Consequential amendments</heading>
        <content>
          <p><b>4.</b> The Acts specified in the Schedule are amended as set out in the Schedule.</p>
        </content>
      </section>
      <section eId="sec-5">
        <num>5</num>
        <heading>Transitional</heading>
        <content>
          <p><b>5.</b> For the purposes of the operation, on or after the day fixed under sub-section 2 (2), of the Acts specified in the Schedule—</p>
          <p>(a) instruments may be made under sub-<i>Audit Act 1901;</i><ref href="#sec-32">section 32</ref> (1) of the </p>
          <p>(b) certificates may be given under sub-<ref href="#sec-32">section 32</ref> (2) of that Act; and</p>
          <p>(c) warrants may be issued under sub-<ref href="#sec-32">section 32</ref> (3) of that Act,</p>
          <p>on or after the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent as if the amendments made by <ref href="#sec-4">section 4</ref> of this Act had come into operation on that last-mentioned day.</p>
