1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage (Interim Protection) Amendment Act 1986.

(2) The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage (Interim Protection) Act 1984¹ is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2 Commencement

2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3 Short title

3. Section 1 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting "(Interim Protection)"and substituting "Protection".

4 Cessation of operation of Principal Act

4. Section 33 of the Principal Act is repealed.
