An Act to amend the Farm Household Support Act 2014, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title

This Act is the Farm Household Support Amendment Act 2018.
2 Commencement 1

Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

 1 Paragraph 3(a)

Omit “3 years”, substitute “4 years”.

 2 Paragraph 4(a)

Omit “3 years”, substitute “4 years”.

 3 Subsection 5(1) (definition of 3 years or less)

Repeal the definition.

 4 Subsection 5(1)

Insert:

4 years or less has the meaning given by subsection 6(3).

 5 Section 6 (heading)

Omit “3 years or less”, substitute “4 years or less”.

 13 Application of amendments

The amendments made by this Schedule apply in relation to the following:

a person who made a claim for farm household allowance at any time before the day this Schedule commences (whether or not the claim had been determined before that day);

 b

a person who makes a claim for farm household allowance on or after the day this Schedule commences.
