An Act to amend the Dental Benefits Act 2008, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:
1 Short title

This Act is the Dental Benefits Amendment Act 2021.
2 Commencement 1

Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3 Schedules

Amendments

Dental Benefits Act 2008

 1 Section 22 (paragraph beginning “A person qualifies”)

Omit “he or she is aged between 2 and 18 years”, substitute “the person is aged under 18 years”.

 2 Subsection 23(1)

Repeal the subsection, substitute:

This section applies to a person, in relation to a calendar year, if the person is aged under 18 years on 1 January in the calendar year.
