          <p>		This Act is the <i>National Collecting Institutions Legislation Amendment </i><i>Act </i><i>202</i><i>1</i>.</p>

        <heading>Commencement</heading>
        <subsection eId="sec-2__subsec-1">
          <num>1</num>
          <content>
            <p>Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.</p>

            <heading>Restrictions on financial transactions</heading>

                <p>The Gallery must not, without the written approval of <role refersTo="#minister">the Minister</role>:</p>
              </content>
            </hcontainer>
            <paragraph eId="schedule-2__clause-47__para-a">
              <num>a</num>
              <content>
                <p>acquire any portrait, another work of art or related material for a consideration exceeding in amount or value the amount prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this paragraph; or</p>
              </content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph eId="schedule-2__clause-47__para-b">
              <num>b</num>
              <content>
                <p>dispose of any portrait, another work of art or related material if the amount or value of the consideration for the disposal, or the value of the portrait, other work of art or related material, exceeds the amount prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this paragraph; or</p>
              </content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph eId="schedule-2__clause-47__para-c">
              <num>c</num>
              <content>
                <p>acquire any property, right or privilege, other than a portrait, another work of art or related material, for a consideration exceeding in amount or value the amount prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this paragraph; or</p>

              <num>d</num>
              <content>
                <p>dispose of any property, right or privilege, other than a portrait, another work of art or related material, if the amount or value of the consideration for the disposal, or the value of the property, right or privilege, exceeds the amount prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this paragraph; or</p>

              <num>e</num>

                <p>enter into a contract for the construction of a building for the Gallery, being a contract under which the Gallery is to pay an amount exceeding the amount prescribed by the regulations for the purposes of this paragraph; or</p>

              <num>f</num>
              <content>
                <p>enter into a lease of land for a period exceeding 10 years.</p>
              </content>
            </paragraph>

                <p>An approval under subsection (1) is not a legislative instrument.</p>
              </content>
            </hcontainer>

                <p>Subsection (1) does not apply to a contract if the contract provides for the supply of a service to the Gallery for the day-to-day operations of the Gallery.</p>

              <num>4</num>
              <content>
                <p>Subsection (1) does not apply to the following:</p>
              </content>
            </hcontainer>
            <paragraph eId="schedule-2__clause-47__para-a">
              <num>a</num>
              <content>
                <p>an investment acquired under subsection 46(3);</p>
              </content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph eId="schedule-2__clause-47__para-b">
              <num>b</num>
              <content>
                <p>the disposal of such an investment.</p>
              </content>
            </paragraph>
          </hcontainer>
          <hcontainer name="clause" eId="schedule-2__clause-53">
            <num>53</num>
            <heading>Application and saving provisions</heading>
            <hcontainer name="subclause" eId="schedule-2__clause-53__subclause-1">
              <num>1</num>
              <content>
                <p>(1)	The repeal and substitution of <i>National Portrait Gallery of Australia Act 2012 </i>made by this Schedule does not affect the validity of an approval in force under that section immediately before the commencement of this item.<ref href="#sec-47">section 47</ref> of the </p>
              </content>
            </hcontainer>
            <hcontainer name="subclause" eId="schedule-2__clause-53__subclause-2">
              <num>2</num>
              <content>
                <p>(2)	Subsection 47(3) of the <i>National Portrait Gallery of Australia Act 2012</i>, as substituted by this Schedule, applies on and after the commencement of this item in relation to contracts entered into before, on or after that commencement.</p>
