Customs Tariff Amendment Act (No. 2) 1987

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Customs Tariff Amendment Act (No. 2) 1987.

(2) In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Customs Tariff Act 1987¹.

Commencement

2. (1) Sections 1, 2 and 4 shall come into operation on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

(2) Sections 3 and 5 shall come into operation on the commencement of the Principal Act.

3 Indexation of rates of duty

3. Section 26 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the table set out in subsection (1) and substituting the following table:

4 Repeal

4. Section 28 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:

“(1) Each of the Acts referred to in Schedule 6, and any Act passed in 1987, to the extent only that it amends an Act so referred to, is repealed.”.

5 Amendments of Schedules

5. The Principal Act is further amended as set out in the Schedule.
